FLOOR CARE: WOOD

HARDWOOD FLOORS DONE RIGHT

A thorough cleaning by a ServiceNational technician is usually all you need to get your hardwoods looking new again. We can remove dirt and repair small scratches to restore the wood’s original luster.

Our process begins with a thorough vacuuming to remove dust, dirt particulates, pins, etc. We then damp mop the floors to remove stains and follow with a high-speed spray buff of all areas to restore luster.

Our Renewal Service is recommended for heavily scratched and damaged floors. This is a more affordable alternative to floor refinishing. Our simple Repair Service will fix scratches, dents, water and mould, as well as damage including buckling, gaps, cups, or twisting.

Regular Maintenance

Preventative maintenance is the first step:

  • Place high-quality floor mats and area rugs near store entrances from the street to prevent dirt, sand and other unwanted substances from being tracked onto the flooring.
  • Attach felt floor protectors on moveable furniture, including chairs, tables, sofas and display racks that sit directly on the floor.

Here’s the maintenance that you should be doing ongoing:

  • Wipe up spills and spots immediately with a damp cloth.
  • Do not use ammonia or oil-based wax, polish, dust treatment chemicals, abrasive cleaners, or furniture cleaners to clean your floor.
  • Do not wet mop the floor, as excess moisture may cause wood damage.
